2. As I came to learn in my exploration of the brain's workings, gut is often no more than an inborn reaction that can have very little to do with the choice we are facing in the moment, , and quite a lot to do with the choices that our evolutionary ancestores faced on the African Savannah.

3. Evolutionary psychologists today agree that a number of behavioral biases were hardwired into our brains to ensure survival.

4. In primitive circumstances, for example, we were "programmed' to freeze in times of danger, as predators would rarely go after dead quarry.

5. Today, we still carry that deep-rooted propensity toward paralysis, even if "danger" is coming in the form of a tight deadline or a big meeting.

6. many of us have gone along with a terrible idea just because it felt awkward to contradict friends, colleagues, or even the status quo.

7. In doing so, we were only acting human.

8. 10-10-10 cannot erase the ingrained neurological biases that our brains developed to protect our species over the course of millions of years.
